The Housing Assistance Council and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, Atlanta Field Office invite you to participate in Becoming a High Performing CHDO on October 2-3, 2012 in Macon, GA.

This training is designed to help improve performance under the HOME Program, topics covered include CHDO and HOME basics, redefining the PJ‐CHDO relationship, are you set‐up to be a successful developer, selecting good CHDO projects, CHDO project implementation, and ensuring long‐term project and CHDO survival. Discussion will include recent updates to the HOME program.

Due to funding restrictions this training is limited to staff of certified CHDOs, potential CHDOs and PJs in Georgia. Additionally, participants are required to register in advance for this event.

Building HOME and Lead Based Paint

The Housing Assistance Council and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Columbia Field Office invite you to participate in Building Home and Lead Based Paint onSeptember 5-7, 2012 in Columbia, SC.

Building HOME provides an overview of the HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) Program. Participants will become familiar with all program activities, including homeowner and homebuyer, rental housing, tenant-based rental assistance, and CHDO activities. Additionally, this training will review federal requirements surrounding lead based paint, including the April 22, 2010 requirement that all renovators who work in homes built pre 1978 and disturb more than six square-feet of lead paint be RRP certified. This is a comprehensive introduction to the HOME Program and federal lead based paint requirements. If you are new to the HOME Program or have not attended basic HOME training in a while, you won’t want to miss this seminar.

The Housing Assistance Council and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, Albuquerque Field Office invite you to participate in Sustainable Affordable Housing: Developing Healthy and Energy Efficient Homes for CHDOson April 23-25, 2013 in Las Cruces, NM.

Sustainable Affordable Housing: Developing Healthy and Energy Efficient Homes for CHDOs will train staff from CHDOs and potential CHDOs involved in the construction of HOME assisted affordable housing how to incorporate cost effective green building techniques into their projects. This course will provide an in-depth introduction to developing healthy, energy efficient and environmentally responsible housing while maintaining affordability. Participants will learn the fundamentals of sustainability for housing and how to apply them to various housing situations, including single family and multifamily, new construction, rehabilitation and ongoing operations using both a classroom and real world setting.

Due to funding restrictions this training is limited to staff of certified CHDOs, potential CHDOs and PJs in New Mexico. Additionally, participants are required to register in advance for this event.
