BUILDING RURAL COMMUNITIES THROUGH CHDOSConstruction Management and Advanced Financial ManagementStart: November 15, 2011 The Housing Assistance Council and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, San Francisco Regional Office invite you to participate in Building Rural Communities through CHDOs on November 15-16, in Tucson, AZ. Construction Management This class is designed for managers of rehabilitation and new construction programs. The course covers key aspects of running rehabilitation and construction programs such as implementing housing standards, reviewing inspections, resolving construction disputes, and ensuring that units comply with HOME requirements regarding cost and quality. The course will also focus on making strategic decisions related to staffing, organizing, and managing your construction programs. For PJ program managers charged with overseeing any type of construction program, this course provides a unique opportunity to share ideas and strategies with colleagues from other PJs. Advanced Financial Management This workshop is specially designed for experienced staff – typically those who have successfully completed some form of introductory financial management training – with accounting and financial management responsibilities for rural Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs) and other housing development agencies. Participants will gain a greater understanding of financial policies and procedures, cost allocation, cash flow management, ratio analysis, and financial management strategy. The training builds upon HAC’s Sharpening your Skills: Financial Management for Rural CHDOs training. Can’t make it to Tucson in November or want to attend both workshops? Register for this same training in Chico on December 1-2 Attendance at theis event is limited to CHDOs, Potential CHDOs and PJs in the jurisdiction of the San Francisco Regional HUD Office. Furthermore, due to funding restrictions, participants are required to register in advance for this training. For information, contact: Dan Stern, 202-842-8600 or registration@ruralhome.org. |
