HAC Submits Comments to USDA on Sec. 502 Packaging Proposed Rule
HAC has completed and submitted its comments to the USDA Rural Housing Service’s (USDA RHS) proposed rule regarding the section 502 loan packaging process. HAC would like to thank all of the organizations that contributed to this effort in this space and through other channels.

HAC is pleased to respond to USDA Rural Housing Service’s (USDA-RHS) proposed rule regarding the Section 502 loan packaging process. This is a critical point time to define the roles and responsibilities of packagers, employers, intermediaries, trainers, and their partnership with USDA-RHS. We are sharing our draft response to the proposed rule with you, welcome your comments, and offer for you to use any or all of it in your response to USDA-RHS. We are also making our website your platform to post your response; send us your comment and we will post it for others to view if you wish. FAHE’s (Federation of Appalachian Housing Enterprises) comments are posted for your information; please feel free to use their information as well in your response. Please make your voice heard! If you submit your comments to HAC by Friday, October 18th, we may include some of your remarks in our official letter to USDA-RHS.
We strongly ask that all of you who work with the Section 502 program in any way to submit a response, whether you agree or not with the Proposed Rule, HAC’s response, or have any other position. USDA-RHS needs to hear from you. We need to hear from you as soon you can. Time is short as comments must be submitted to USDA-RHS on or before Tuesday, October 22nd.
