The recent enactment of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act will have further impact on the landscape of our nation’s housing market. Federal housing programs are being reexamined, resources and priorities are shifting, and communities are increasingly considering how public, philanthropic, private, and community investments can best be aligned to address housing needs and expand opportunity. The legislation includes changes affecting Veteran homeownership and housing assistance, rural housing, housing supply, and the coordination of HUD, USDA, and VA housing programs. It creates new opportunities for federal agencies and communities to consider how existing resources can be better aligned, even as questions remain about the future scale and availability of federal housing investment.

The conversation will consider the full range of Veteran housing circumstances, including rental housing, housing stability, homeownership, housing development, and preservation, with particular attention to rural communities.
