Overcoming Cost Barriers: Innovative Approaches to Construction with Smart Building Techniques, Volunteers, and Sweat Equity Learning Series

Welcome to “Overcoming Cost Barriers: Innovative Approaches to Construction with Smart Building Techniques, Volunteers, and Sweat Equity Learning Series,” designed to equip housing development professionals from rural nonprofits and local units of government with the knowledge and tools to address the challenges of rising costs, labor shortages, and evolving building techniques. Throughout this five-webinar series, you will learn from industry leaders and field practitioners about best practices and recent trends for managing costs through strategies such as fostering skilled labor in your community and implementing alternative construction techniques. By attending all five webinars, you will receive a HAC Certificate of Completion, demonstrating your dedication to continuous improvement and industry excellence. Join us on this journey towards building a more cost-effective, sustainable, and resilient future in the construction sector.

Modular and Manufactured Homes

The demand for innovative housing solutions has grown in response to skilled worker shortages and the need for increased organizational capacity. In the “Modular and Manufactured Housing” webinar, we will explore how factory-built homes can address these challenges and create new opportunities in the construction sector. We will draw upon the experiences of peer organizations that have successfully implemented modular and manufactured housing strategies to overcome workforce limitations and enhance their capacity to deliver quality housing.

In the first part of the webinar, we will provide an overview of modular and manufactured housing, highlighting the benefits and efficiencies offered by these factory-built alternatives. We will also present real-world examples of organizations that have effectively adopted these methods to meet the demands of a changing construction landscape.

In the second part of the webinar, we will discuss the process of becoming a USDA “authorized dealer” to facilitate homebuyer financing for modular and manufactured units. By understanding the financing options available and the requirements for authorized dealerships, you will be better equipped to expand your organization’s offerings and provide affordable, innovative housing solutions to a wider range of clients.

Join us in this engaging session to uncover the potential of modular and manufactured housing and how it can transform your organization’s approach to housing construction and financing.
