President Obama made several references to housing in his Jan. 20 State of the Union address. Touching on broad themes, the speech began with the story of a Minnesota family who were recently able to buy their first home. A later reference later in the speech to “lower mortgage premiums” apparently refers to the President’s recent action to lower HUD FHA mortgage costs.
