This virtual five-day advanced course on July 25-29 covers USDA Rural Development’s Section 502 Direct Loan Program and provides invaluable insight as to how this homeownership financing resource can be utilized.
The course will be offered 12:00-Noon – 4:00 pm EST daily.
Attendance and active participation in the course is required for certification of completion and eligibility to take the certification exam.
Learn how to assist potential borrowers and work in partnership with RD staff, as well as other nonprofit organizations and regional intermediaries to deliver successful Section 502 loan packages.
This course is intended for and specifically framed for those experienced in utilizing Section 502 and/or other affordable housing mortgage products.
Participants will learn regulations and practical applications of the loan program, while developing a strong understanding of 502 direct packaging standards.
Following the course, participants are encouraged to take the online certification exam.

This training is limited to 30 participants. If you can’t attend this training, please visit USDA502DirectTraining.org for additional offerings.
Attendance Policy
Full attendance and participation are required by USDA to receive a Certificate of Completion which is one of the requirements for becoming a USDA Rural Development 502 Direct Certified Loan Packager. The training agency will verify this requirement by monitoring daily attendance and participation. Any unexcused absence (30 minutes cumulative) throughout the course and/or lack of participation will disqualify the participant from receiving a Certificate of Completion and disqualify the Online Exam results, as this is only for those who have completed the course. The training agency is not responsible for notifying participants of their disqualification due to absences and lack of participation until after the completion of the course.
Payment Options
Once you submit your registration information you will be forwarded to the Stripe payment page. Acceptable forms of electronic payment includes American Express, Discover, Master Card and Visa. After completing your payment you will receive an email confirmation from Stripe. Once HAC confirms receipt of your payment you will receive an email confirming your registration and detailing logistics for the course (usually within 1 business day).
Cancellation Refund Policy
There is a $75 cancellation fee. HAC will refund registration fees, less the cancellation fee for attendees who cancel their registrations two weeks before the training or earlier. Refunds must be requested by email to registration@ruralhome.org. There are no refunds for no-shows however, HAC does welcome substitute registrants.
