DESCRIPTION:Description\nThis three-day advanced course will cover USDA Rural Development’s Section 502 direct loan program and provide invaluable insight as to how this homeownership financing resource can be utilized in your communities. Learn how your organization can assist potential borrowers and work in partnership with RD staff in your state to deliver successful Section 502 loan packages. Through the course\, designed for those experienced in using Section 502\, participants will learn the regulations and practical applications of the loan program. Participants will develop a strong understanding of 502 direct underwriting and packaging standards\, which will ensure that submitted loan dockets are complete and accessible for processing. \nA laptop is required for the class. \nFollowing the course\, participants are encouraged to take the online certification exam. \nRegister Now\nSpeakers\nVickey Stratton\, Housing Specialist\nHousing Assistance Council \nRegistration Fee\nRegistration fee is $825. Payment is required at registration. \nEligible Attendees\nThis course is intended for and specifically framed for those experienced in utilizing Section 502 and/or other affordable housing mortgage products. Prior to registering for the training\, please review this decision tree to be sure that you have the required experience and tools to get the most out of this training. \nThis training is limited to 30 participants. If you can’t attend this training\, please visit USDA502DirectTraining.org for additional offerings. \nAttendance Policy\nFull attendance and participation are required by USDA to receive a Certificate of Completion which is one of the requirements for becoming a USDA Rural Development 502 Direct Certified Loan Packager. The training agency will verify this requirement by monitoring daily attendance and participation. Any unexcused absence (30 minutes cumulative) throughout the course and/or lack of participation will disqualify the participant from receiving a Certificate of Completion and disqualify the Online Exam results\, as this is only for those who have completed the course. The training agency is not responsible for notifying participants of their disqualification due to absences and lack of participation until after the completion of the course. \nCancellation Refund Policy\nThere is a $75 cancellation fee.  HAC will refund registration fees\, less the cancellation fee for attendees who cancel their registrations two weeks before the training or earlier. Refunds must be requested by email to registration@ruralhome.org.  There are no refunds for no-shows however\, HAC does welcome substitute registrants. \nIf a minimum of 20 participants have not registered by the registration/cancellation deadline\, HAC may\, at its discretion\, cancel the course and refer registrants to a future training offering. \nFor cancellations due to limited registration\, registered participants will be notified by email at least 21 days prior to the scheduled training date. \nIf cancellation is necessary due to unforeseen or emergency circumstances\, including natural disasters\, severe weather\, instructor illness\, travel disruptions\, or other circumstances beyond our control\, participants will be notified as soon as possible. \nParticipants are strongly encouraged to purchase refundable airline tickets and lodging accommodations. \nContact HAC\nregistration@ruralhome.org\n(202) 842-8600
