SUMMARY:The Future of Rural Workforce Housing: Exploring New Models and Approaches
DESCRIPTION:***Register Soon\, the event is nearly full.  \nThis symposium will focus on the unique challenges and opportunities of creating affordable housing solutions for the rural workforce. Participants will learn about innovative models that are tailored to the specific needs of rural communities. With a focus on community-driven solutions\, the workshop will feature expert speakers who will share their experiences and best practices for developing effective workforce housing programs.  Discover cutting-edge solutions for a range of workforce groups\, utilizing innovative construction\, funding sources\, and partnerships to break down barriers and create thriving communities. Explore new approaches for homebuyer development\, rental development\, and more\, while networking with developers\, community leaders\, and subject matter experts. By the end of the workshop\, participants will have gained valuable insights and tools to help them create more effective workforce housing solutions that can make a lasting impact in rural communities. \nAttendees will have the opportunity to tour Sevier County workforce housing units\, which serve local tourism workers at Dollywood and in the Great Smoky Mountains\, and learn valuable insights for creating affordable housing solutions in their own communities. \nImagination Library\nWe hope that this symposium will be a catalyst for meaningful change. As you may know\, Dolly Parton is a proud resident of the Smoky Mountains\, and her commitment to improving the lives of those around her has been unwavering. One of her most beloved initiatives is the Imagination Library\, which provides free books to children from birth to age five\, regardless of their family’s income. We will be collecting age-appropriate books at the registration desk onsite. We would like to invite you to support this worthy cause by donating a book or two to the Imagination Library.
