HUD RHED 2007
Logic Model
HUD has announced $16.83
million in funding for the Rural Housing and Economic
Development (RHED) program. The purpose of these funds
are to build capacity at the state and local level for
rural housing and economic development, and to support
innovative housing and economic development activities
in rural areas.
The application deadline is May
23, 2007
What is a Logic Model?
The NOFA asks for a completed Program
Outcome Logic Model as part of the application.
A Logic Model is a form used to provide a clear outline
of your proposed project. You can use it to summarize
your goals, what your project will do, and what the
results will be. In order to understand how the Logic
Model should be filled out, first read HUD';s instructions
carefully.
Helpful Hints
-
Complete the logic model after you have finished the narrative proposal
-
The logic model is an outline; use it to summarize your narrative
-
Make sure you include HUD Goals and Policy Priorities for each activity
-
Do not fill out the "Post"
section in columns 4 and 6; if you receive a grant,
you will fill these out as you complete your project
-
When describing Service or Activities
(column 3), think in terms of numbers, like "100
people to receive counseling" or "10 homes
built";
-
When describing Outcomes (column
5), think in terms of the program's impact, like"increasing
affordable housing" or "reducing the amount
of substandard housing"
-
For Evaluation Tools, start by thinking how you currently track the progress and outcomes of your existing programs. Keep in mind that HUD will hold you to your descriptions of how you will collect, process and maintain your data.
