HAC Builds Rural Communities
Through CHDOs

CHDO Program. This project builds the capacity of selected nonprofit Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs) to develop affordable housing with support from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Participating CHDOs are provided technical assistance, training, and networking opportunities. HAC is currently engaged in administering its fourth round of the CHDO Program. HAC has made capacity grants under this program totaling over $1,000,000 to 110 groups.

HAC has designs and implements special technical assistance initiatives, often with the financial support of federal agencies and major foundations to help build the capacity of rural nonprofits. Contact your local regional office for more information.
